Sklicirka

Thursday, 19 June

18.30-19.10

Sklicirka is a performative dance show and a cross-generational dialogue, spoken in the language of movement. The piece aims to sketch human relations and a possible community. It is developed based on encounters between Lana Kariž Meško and Ema Sirotič, who have been dancers for many years, and those who are only starting their journey as dancers. What began as the authors’ wish to create something new gradually overgrew their duet. Kalčki Dance Group entered the process as co-actors. Their presence is not marginal; it is central to the show. These encounters activated a process in which the body is a catalyst for ideas. They learn from each other, observe, listen and respond to each other. In Sklicirka, age is not a limit; it is a spectrum. Kalčki bring their own movement patterns. Their imagination and directness are the material that the authors take as inspiration. In that sense, Sklicirka becomes a unique space, a temporary community where two worlds come together: the courage of a child and the experience of an adult.
